Something stuck? Give us a call.

Nobody here has to go through a ticket system. You reach a person who knows your system. Also in the evening, when your restaurant is busy.

Urgent right now

In the middle of service and nothing works? Call us.

Printer quiet, display black, guests cannot order: call instead of writing. On the phone we are on the problem in two minutes. By email it takes hours.

Mon–Sun, also in the evening. When your restaurant is open, we are here.

№ 01 · Fix it yourself

Four things you can fix yourself in one minute.

These are the cases we hear about most often. If one of them fits, you are finished faster than a phone call takes.

No sound for new orders

A browser is only allowed to play a sound on its own once someone has touched the page. After every reload this permission is gone again.

Tap once on the dark message “Tap here to enable notifications” that appears when the page loads. After that the sound comes.

Keep in mind: the sound is set per device. Tablet and PC have separate settings.

Settings → Advanced features → Notifications

The receipt does not come out of the printer

There are two printing methods, and they fail in different ways. First check which one your printer uses.

If it says ePOS, the printing is not done by the server but by your dashboard. That means: a device on the same Wi-Fi has to be open, and on the Orders page. If the tablet is asleep, no receipt comes.

To keep working right away: open the order, open the footer, “Print receipt”.

Settings → Advanced features → Printers

Guests see “Closed” although you are open

The most common cause is hours that run past midnight. An entry like 18:00–02:00 is not recognised as open.

Split it in two: Friday 18:00–23:59 and also Saturday 00:00–02:00.

Second most common cause: an old entry under “Holidays & special hours” whose end date is still in the future. It overrules your normal hours.

Settings → General → Opening hours

“Table not found” when scanning

The QR code carries the table number. You can change the name at any time. If you change the number, every printed sticker is dead.

Fastest fix: put the old number back, then all codes work again straight away. If the number really has to change, use “Generate QR codes” at the top and print new stickers.

For counters it is the other way round: there the name sits in the link. So do not rename a counter after printing.

№ 02 · Common questions

Look it up instead of asking.

Sound & notifications
This is a protection rule in the browser, not a setting from us: sound is only allowed once someone has touched the page. That is why a dark message appears when the page loads, and you tap it once. As long as you then only move between the dashboard pages, the sound stays on. Only a real reload switches it off again.
The sound settings sit in each browser, not in the restaurant. So you have to set them on every device separately. Settings → Advanced features → Notifications There you set “Notification sound” (new orders), “Waiter call sound” and the volume separately. You can choose Piece of Cake, Relax, Magic, So Proud, Smile and Emergence. Magic is preset for orders and Piece of Cake for the waiter call. If you clear your browser data, the settings go back to default.
The same browser rule applies on the kitchen tablet. Tap once on the message “Tap here to enable notifications”. The difference to the dashboard: the kitchen display only remembers this while the tab stays open. If the tab is closed or the device is restarted, you have to tap once again.
Printer & receipt
The printer is set on the category, not on the item. Go through every category once: Menu → Category → Edit In the “Printer” field you choose “Automatic (all printers)”, “Do not print” or one specific printer. So drinks go to the bar printer and pizza to the kitchen, for example. Tip: for each printer you can switch on “Hide prices” with the gear icon. That usually makes sense for the kitchen receipt.
Yes, and during service that is often the fastest way. Orders → open the order → footer → “Print receipt” There you choose the printer. The printer list also has a test print button, so you can check whether a printer answers at all.
Kitchen display
First reload the page. Most of the time it was a short network drop. If it stays empty, check in the header whether the restaurant name and the cook name are still there. If not, enter the PIN again at /staff/login. To cross-check, look at Orders in the dashboard: only orders with the status Confirmed, Preparing and Ready reach the kitchen display at all. If there is something in the dashboard and nothing on the display, it is the login, never the order.
In the device settings of the tablet, set the screen timeout to “Never” (Android: Display → Screen timeout; iPad: Display & Brightness → Auto-Lock). Leave the tablet on the charger. Many devices still lock when they run on battery. It runs most reliably if you put the kitchen display on the home screen as an app with “Add to Home Screen”. Then it starts in full screen.
That is on purpose: the column is the handover to the service staff, and the cook is not meant to empty it. Someone has to set the order to “Served”, either in the waiter app at /staff/waiter in the “Serve” tab, or in the dashboard under Orders. Oriido closes leftover orders automatically as soon as your restaurant opens again after a closing day. For that your opening hours have to be up to date.
Menu & prices
Do not delete it, set it to unavailable. Menu → Category → switch in the item row You see the confirmation “Item sold out”, and the item disappears from the guest menu. In the evening you switch it back on. Anyone who scans after that sees it right away. A guest who already has the menu open sees it only after a reload.
No. The guest menu is loaded fresh every time it is opened, there is no cache button and none is needed. Saving is enough, the next scan shows the new price. Two limits: a guest who already has the menu open sees the old price until a reload, and orders that are already running keep the price from the moment they were placed.
Settings → General → Orders → “Disable ordering” Switch it on, then two fields appear: a message for your guests and the option to still show the “Call waiter” button. You must save. Without saving nothing happens. The menu stays visible, only ordering is blocked. If you leave the text field empty, it says “Ordering is currently disabled” automatically.
Team & PIN
In the left navigation go to Crew and open the three-dot menu in the row of that staff member. If it says “Resend”, choose that. A new PIN is created and shown straight away. If that entry is missing, the staff member is already active. Then use “Remove” and add them again with “Invite”. The new PIN is shown only once, so write it down right away.
Always use the last email you sent. Older links stop working as soon as you invite again. A common trip-up: the staff member opens the link in the browser inside WhatsApp or Instagram. The link has to be opened in Chrome on Android and in Safari on the iPhone. The page says so itself.
This is the protection against trying PINs over and over. Only waiting helps. So that it does not get that far: when you invite someone you can switch off “PIN login required”. Then the cook logs in with his saved link and cannot mistype.
Payments & payouts
This almost always points to an incomplete Stripe setup. Settings → Payments → Stripe Connect All three indicators there must have a green tick: Payments, Payouts and Verified. If one is missing, click “Continue setup” and go through the whole Stripe process (ID, business details, IBAN). Only after that do new payments go straight to your bank account. For payments from before that, please get in touch with us. We have to transfer those by hand.
First reload the Orders page. Most of the time it arrives a few seconds later. If it is still not there after a few minutes: take the order by hand so that service keeps running, and never let the guest pay a second time. Then get in touch with us with the time, the table number and the amount. We can only repair the link on the server.
Orders → open the order → “Request refund” The button only appears for orders that were paid online. After you confirm, you see one of two messages: “Refund completed successfully via Stripe” means the money is on its way. “Refund request has been sent” means we do it by hand. For cash or card at the till the button is called “Cancel payment”. That only resets the status, and you give the money back at the till.
№ 03 · Write to us

Nothing here fits? Write to us.

For everything that can wait. If something is stuck during service right now, please call. That is much faster.

The more detail you give, the faster we can help.

This helps us straight away

When you call or write, have this ready. Then we do not have to ask first:

  • The name of your restaurant in Oriido
  • Does it affect all tables or only one particular table?
  • Since when does it happen, and what was different before?
  • A photo of the screen if a message is shown

Are you a guest?

If your order does not arrive or something is wrong with the payment, the fastest way is to speak to the restaurant directly. That is where your food is. The link in your order confirmation takes you to the order status, and from there you can get in touch.
